Self: Do not attempt to enlarge an open back frame inexpensively by using trim, a miter saw and spray paint...especially if you are not willing to get out caulk, etc.
It looks pretty bad and yet I will still hang it in my poor baby's room because I spent too long on it today. The paint on the frame is currently drying in the grass.
Perhaps if you squint your eyes when you look at it, you won't see the bazillion flaws....
