I know I am so far behind. At this point it is a bit overwhelming because I really need to go back to the beginning of June! (Sales Excellence Trip, fun in the lake, more yard pictures, 4th of July party, etc., etc.)
The beastly catalog I was working on for over 2 months for the National Book Network went to press in June and I am finally caught up again with book covers and invitations, so the blog is next on the list.
I promise to add a decent post soon.
For now...I continue to be a slacker.
Life is Good. We have been married since July of 2003 and we just became a family of four! Life is busy, but we are embracing this new adventure whole-heartedly. Mitsy and Toonces have now passed away and we have our Corona-Kitty! This is truly a wonderful time in our lives.

Suck It Up!
I know I haven't posted in forever. I have a lot more I can add....but it will likely have to wait for another few weeks.
Here is a video Brian took on his phone this morning.
He obviously used up the whole charge while he was "helping"....and he did tell us he was helping. :) He's turned into quite the little parrot!

YARD — Spring 2010
At least I waited until after midnight for yet another post. I organized and captioned everything for my Granny, so I figured I might as well share it with all of you fine people (that could probably care less about our yard). Hey, this blog is also for the purposes of personal archiving!

I was actually out digging in the dark tonight after I put Connor to sleep. (I know, I'm ridiculous. Brian was at a business dinner.) I moved the 2 Yews to the back yard on either side of the Dappled Willow tree, planted the Barberry bushes where the Yews were in the front yard and moved one of the rose bushes in the back over to the side of the house in front of the little wall by the big empty bed. I want to get something else taller to go by the double door/basement garage. I also want to move the 3 carpet roses from the front to the back and I think I want to put in a different kind of Spirea in its place in front.
We are getting two Cleveland Select Flowering Pear trees for the strip of grass between the road and the sidewalk....we call it the "tree lawn". If you read the captions carefully, you learned that we are having two more sets of shutters made for the front garage windows. I'm very anxious to have them done and think it will look really nice.
I'm going to have to wait until after next week to put annuals in the new flower boxes because believe it or not I think we are supposed to get another frost this weekend. We'll be in Cleveland for Chris Nealon's college graduation and Pat's 60th birthday. We are staying the following week while Brian helps out working at the Cleveland Clinic. So, the yard will just have to wait. We need to get more mulch as well as sand for the beach.
The grass is perfect and dandelion free thanks to Brian's meticulous weed control and new Toro lawnmower. :) He's smart to leave the flowers and beds up to me because I have a bad habit of moving stuff around frequently.....at least I don't ask him to do it for me! I think that trait is just in my blood.
Now if I would just clean the house or do some work.....

Sitting Spot
Seriously.....3 posts in one day?! Sheesh.
I was taking pictures of our yard for my grandmother, (that post will be another day) and Connor was playing in the garage. Then I didn't hear him anymore. I immediately looked around the front yard, in our neighbor's yard, and (gasp) made sure he hadn't made his way to the back yard to the lake. No sign of him. I started calling his name and I heard a little snicker. He was being so still and quiet, but just couldn't keep in his little laugh.
He'd found a wonderful sitting spot, right on the front porch where he could watch me take pictures. He even took a snack up there with him...Goldfish. Lucky for me, I already had the camera in hand, so I got to snap a few cute ones of him. I promise he doesn't go around barefoot all the time, but I must admit, I do love those little toes!
No clue why the house looks so brown when it is very much BLUE.

Connor is 100% B-O-Y!
We played outside a lot yesterday. After dinner Connor got away from me for about 15 seconds. This was just long enough to find a puddle in the empty lot next door and wade right in. (I will add the videos as soon as I get them off the camera.) He had an absolute ball! I couldn't get mad because it was already done, I raced for the cameras instead. Later, while still very wet and muddy, he ventured onto Don and Linda's big pile of beach sand that hasn't been spread yet. He climbed up and down several times, threw sand and let me take some cute pictures. He just kept saying cheese, but didn't want to look at me...what a little nut.
