Grant & Carrie come to Grand Rapids

We are so excited to have Uncle Grant & Aunt Carrie here for a long weekend! Grant and Carrie ran their first marathon this morning and Brian ran his first 1/2 marathon!! (that will be the next post...)
Connor helping Grant "roll out" Brian on Friday night.

They arrived Friday evening. On Saturday, we went to the race expo to get the racer's packets. Carrie was giddy and so excited...so cute. Then we went to Klackle Farms for a true Michigan autumn experience. Of course we took lots of pictures too. :)

Expo.

The swans are back!!! Beautiful mornings.

Klackle Farms is in Greenville, Michigan and it is probably best described as an autumn fun world. There are rides to pick your own apples or pumpkins, a "pumpkin train", inflatables, corn maze, BMX track, apple launching at targets, trike races, tractors everywhere, etc., etc. I personally think it is just one of those places that we will have to go every year until Connor is old enough to think it is obnoxious. I think I would go every year just to get the fresh pumpkin donuts and hot apple cider!! YUM!

Carrie did a little climbing to get some really good ones!!

A favorite of the two of us. :)

I got a little artsy....but I love this one.

I had to share my hot, spiced cider with a "friend". Carrie captured it beautifully!

Of course any family pictures of us are action shots. Connor claims to throw the apples for the deer....
All 5 of us!

Grant and Carrie didn't fly out until Monday evening, so we took the opportunity to go to the Grand Rapids Public Museum in the morning and then went to Hopcat for lunch.

Sleep....who needs it???

I should have been asleep long ago. Oh well. Just trying to check things off my long list of things to accomplish before I leave to pick up Grant and Carrie from the airport in Flint tomorrow afternoon!!!

One of the biggies, was getting my Christmas card design templates up on my design blog. CHECK. And check it out! Here is the link: www.nealondesign.blogspot.com.

Take the poll so I know which one is your favorite! :)

If you made it all the way to the end of the photo journal, you might have noticed I got my hair cut yesterday. It has taken me almost 30 years to realize that if my hair is long enough (or even almost) to fit into a pony tail, I will do it. So, I'm embracing the wave and have a wash-n-go style for the first time in my life. I'm excited!!
