unrelated --- Connor just asked me if I wanted to see him "freight dance". Yeah, he meant "break dance".
When the boys were little...maybe even before Declan was born, I sort of assigned them colors. Connor is blue/navy and Declan is red. I thought it was cute and easy to immediately tell whose was whose (when colors would help).
This mainly applies to bags/totes, matching clothes, and cups. Recently I got them new suitcases that followed the color trend and I realized that Declan is taking this color thing to a whole new level.
Last week, he refused to eat blueberry yogurt because it was Connor's...it was blue. And he had a fit when Connor wanted strawberry...because it was "his". Oh boy.
Additionally, he thinks that when firetrucks and police cars are involved, Connor is always the police car...because they are blue and he is the firetruck: red. He will only drink out of the red (or maroon) Contigo kid's cup with straws and gets frustrated if Connor drinks out of the orange or green one. If it is not red or blue, it must be mom's or dad's.
However, yesterday in the car Connor confused me. He asked if I was "black". Huh?! "What color are you if you aren't black?" I thought "white"??? On our recent Disney cruise, my suitcase was black and Brian's was a silver...so I guess those are our newly assigned colors. :)
I never really intended for the boys to take it to this level, but it is kind of fun and makes me smile!
