Happy Birthday to me...the big 3-0!

At least my 30th birthday will be a memorable one. 2011 blizzard hit last night and today. It has been nicknamed the "Groundhog Day Dump". We got about an additional foot of snow, on top of what we already had. Will post pictures once I get them off my phone.

Brian had to go into Metro hospital this morning. Getting out of the driveway was a bit of a task. He was shoveling and Patrick was snow blowing, but he still managed to get his back tire stuck in a snow bank. Another neighbor, Casey came over too and helped get him out. Then he picked up a cake for my birthday. (Two actually.) Meijer was closed completely, but Family Fare was open. Once he got home, he told me he fell in the parking lot...but didn't drop the cake(s)! Atta boy! He also brought me a breakfast sandwich from Subway...no Chick-fil-A chicken biscuit for me. Thankfully, he was only gone for about an hour and a half and is home safe. We were out playing for over an hour. All the neighborhood boys were out and wanted to get sprayed by all the snow blowers...they are nuts. I took a movie with my phone, so I need to upload that also. Connor didn't want to come in, but he's got green snot coming out of his nose, so I had to draw the line somewhere.

My mom is supposed to fly in tonight for a short visit. Hopefully she doesn't have to spend the night at any airports. The big hiccup is that she has to fly through BWI in Baltimore (5 minutes from our old house). As of right now, both of her flights are still set to go. As a precautionary measure, I think she is going to wear all of my clothes while she is here because she packed a pillow and blanket in case she is at the airport for a long time.

On a very different Connor note. He is turning into Mr. Independent. I sliced a bunch of strawberries for him this morning, but he did not eat them. When I was in the shower, he walks in the bathroom with a whole berry. The kid is so tall now, he can reach to the center of the counter, so he just helped himself. I'm thankful that he was able to just get one and leave the rest in their container on the counter. :) Then, just a minute ago he brought me 6 slices of cheese he got out of the drawer in the refrigerator asking me to open them. "More cheese, please." Sorry, kiddo 3 slices is your limit...now eat the grilled cheese sandwich I made for you....nope. Crap...he just figured out how to get it out of the wrapper. He is stuffing the whole slice in his mouth right now. Looks like I lost that battle...
