Connor's Stats

At his 3 year well-child-checkup:

37 lbs. = 87%
40.5 inches = 96%

If he keeps this up, he'll be over 6'2" at age 20 and weigh 195 lbs.

He is the size of an average 4.25 year old boy.

He was so proud to tell Dr. DeLapp he could ride a bike without training wheels. It was a surprise to me that when asked what his favorite birthday present was, he said "transformer". I didn't know he know he knew what a transformer was...

NO TRAINING WHEELS!

Will describe the event in more detail when I am not so tired.

Connor is officially on 2 wheels now! At 3 years and one month old, we can hardly believe it ourselves! Little man has always been pretty coordinated, but he certainly impressed us this afternoon!

most precious thing ever

We bought Connor new snow mittens last night at Costco. (As well as new snow pants and a coat for next year....Costco always runs out of pants in a hurry.)

Anyway, he wanted to put on the mittens this morning. Fine.

Well, right after he put them on, he said, "I want to go water the plants like your gloves." Melt my heart.

He really wanted to wear garden gloves on Wednesday when we were planting this year's mums and asters in the boxes and pots. Of course I don't have any tiny gloves and mine were way to big for him.

Unfortunately, I had to tell him that his mittens were just for snow...not for dirt. Of course next out of his mouth, "I want snow, Mama." Soon enough, buddy....soon enough. :)

——— Another story ———

Several days ago I had to give Toonces a "haircut". She had several matted places that she couldn't get out, so I provided a bit of assistance.

Connor was a great helper and disposed of large chunks of hair that were removed.

The next day at breakfast our conversation went something like this.

Me: Connor, you need to get your hair cut today!
Connor: I have blonde, mama?
Me: Yes, you have lots of blonde.
Connor: I will get more blonde at the lady (Great Clips)
Me: No, buddy. You don't need any more blonde. Just mommy gets more blonde at the haircut!
Connor: I have mats. (while he touches his hair)
Me. No...laughing....you don't have mats.
Connor: I cut them out.
Me: GASP.....immediately go to inspect.

Thankfully, it wasn't that bad. He did take a chunk of hair off the front, but obviously I didn't even notice until he told me. Of course after I knew about it it was pretty prominent. Since he was getting his hair cut anyway, now it all blends in nicely.

Since then we have had multiple talks that ONLY the lady cuts his hair!!

———

I wanted to add this before I forget about it.

Connor uses his own word, "yester-night" for all situations in the past tense. :) This is one that I think is pretty good....we have yesterday, so why not yesternight?!

———

tonight (9.25.11) in his bath, after writing his bike without training wheels for the very first time...I told him I was so proud of him. I asked if he knew why I was proud of him. He paused, looked at me for a second and said, "cause you are my best friend". (heart melting) Of course my response...you are my best friend too, buddy!

Marshmallow Fireside

My house now smells like this....

I LOVE it! Fall is officially in the air.

I also totally should have taken a picture of Connor on the way to school today. Absolutely adorable in his new train shirt, gray corduroy pants and his hair wet and combed....new haircut yesterday. He was so excited about going this morning and we talked all about how we were driving through a cloud on the ground....fog. "Pretty cool, huh." Then he brought up hitting the turkey last Thursday on our way to school.....eek. His mind is a steel trap. I told him the turkey didn't look for cars before crossing (flying) across the street. He then told me the turkey got a big owie and needed his mommy. Yeah, big time...

I did take a picture of him yesterday right after his haircut (such a good boy getting his hair cut!) He only gets gel and a mohawk after a haircut. :) I'll try to remember to add it later.

Busy day today....got to go to the printer!

5 rules to remember in life.

I have MANY other things I need to post about, but I just think this is funny.

FIVE RULES TO REMEMBER IN LIFE:

1. Money cannot buy happiness but its more comfortable to cry in a Mercedes than on a bicycle.

2. Forgive your enemy but remember the bastard's name.

3. Help someone when they are in trouble and they will remember you when they're in trouble again.

4. Many people are… alive only because it's illegal to shoot them.

5. Alcohol does not solve any problems, but then again, neither does milk....
